Working for a number of years with the major UK charities Solace and Rape Crisis, Alison has extensive experience working with adolescents and adults who have suffered sexual abuse and/or domestic violence. As a result she is highly trained in dealing with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and its effects on individuals and families.
Alison’s UK experience working within an NHS hospital for children and adolescents who are suffering from mental health issues, equips her to manage pathological diagnoses of personality disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and severe depression.
Alison also has experience working with children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis, having worked at a special education establishment for children with complex behavioural and emotional needs. During this time she also worked with their families to aid and assist the child in their development.
Alison works with an individual’s unique and special qualities to empower and promote the wellbeing and health of each client, using a combination of creative therapy, CBT, EMDR, and psychodynamic therapy. Alison is currently based in Causeway bay and Sai Kung where she sees individuals, couples and families in her therapy practice, she is also a guest lecturer at Hong Kong University and the Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts.
